Pipeline Isolation utilizing the IsoTool

Used either in tandem, or alone, the IsoTools are tracked into position and set remotely from above ground to aid in the following types of pipeline integrity issues:

Tie-In

Demands on pipelines change over time. A new valve, lateral, or pump station may be required to meet shifting delivery requirements. The IsoTool can be used to quickly and simply allow operators to modify their existing assets.

Leaking Trap Valves

A single IsoTool can be utilized to isolate a short distance from either the launch or receive trap valve. No purging is required, and very little drain up means the leaking valve can be replaced very efficiently. IsoTools can be configured to be bi-directional for short distances, allowing them to be pushed back into the launcher and not pigged through the pipeline.

Problem Mainline Valves

Using two IsoTools Integral we can isolate a short section of pipe with the valve between them, segregating the valve from line pressure, and allowing replacement or repairs.

Pipe Replacement

Dents, cracking and corrosion are unfortunately common occurrences in our aging pipeline system, leaving operators with the option of sleeving, or replacing the anomalous pipe. The IsoTool is a perfect technology to facilitate replacing sections of pipe that an Integrity Program has identified.
