Conventional drain up was not possible and a full bore line stop was not preferred, so Energy Transfer employed the IsoTool to isolate the line to replace the valve. |
Plan and deliver |
The IsoTool was configured to allow for bi-directional travel and pumped against normal flow direction to a location 75’ upstream of the problem valve. The IsoTool was set in under 40 minutes and held back 70 psi of fluid pressure. |
Service completion |
The valve change out occurred within planned outage. The IsoTool was unset the following day after holding the pressure for 19 |
